There's only one Madjid Bougherra

Madjid Bougherra has told Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws he wants to quit to join Charlton according to the Currant Bun. The Owls have rejected a £1.3million bid from the Addicks with Laws desperate to keep the defender at Hillsborough. It will be recalled that the charm merchant of a manager used the occasion of the bid to slag off Charlton. This from the team whose supporters took pleasure in our relegation from the Premiership.

But hard-up Wednesday might be forced to cash in on the Frenchman. Bougherra, 24, said: 'It’s every player’s dream to be in the Premiership. I want to play there as quickly as possible and I know Charlton have made an offer. If everyone is happy, maybe I’ll go to Charlton. You just don’t know what the future will hold.'

Apparently the player's own site, which is in French, states that he is travelling to London today for talks with the Addicks.
