The rumour mill grinds on
The latest rumour is that Chelski have offered Shevchenko on loan for the rest of the season plus £10m for Bent. Shevchenko could link up with Hasselbaink in a non scoring striker partnership.
Midlands sources are claiming that Villa might be prepared to offer Baros plus cash for Bank and Hasselbaink! I don't rate Baros as a replacement for Bent, but a cash offer for Hasselbaink alone would be welcome.
Then there are rumours that Anthony Stokes is now going to sign for Sunderland. That would seem the least likely thing for him to do as Charlton must have a better chance of staying up that Sunderland have of being promoted.
What does look more likely to me now is that Bent will go somewhere. What remains an imperative is to do something about the central midfield.
