Addicks lose out on Smerts
The Addicks have lost out on a bid to re-sign former loan player Alexi Smertin with Sky Sports News reporting that the Moscow Dynamo player is about to sign for Curbs at West Ham.
Charlton have been linked with Irons midfielder Yossi Benayoun but the club and the player have denied that he is going anywhere. Should he in fact be available, Pompey are also said to be interested.
Other reports suggest that any deal for Anthony Stokes would only involve £400,000 up front, with the rest of the money being tied to appearances, Premiership survival etc.
