Parky to sign today

Sky Sports News are reporting that Phil Parkinson is to sign as Alan Pardew's assistant today: Parkinson

This looks like a good move to me. Parkinson was well regarded as a manager at Colchester, was a fringe candidate for the Charlton job in the summer and could be trained as an eventual successor to Pardew.

The Currant Bun is reporting that Charlton have agreed to pay £2.7m for 18 year old Arsenal striker Anthony Stokes who has been on loan at Falkirk where he hot 16 goals in 18 games. Celtic and Sunderland were also after him. The Sun reports that the deal with the Republic of Ireland B player 'will be completed when Pards offloads some of the big-money flops signed by Iain Dowie this summer.'

Radio 5 is reporting that Fulham's Collins John has signed for an unnamed Premiership club.
