Now is the Winter of my discontent

Leamington lost their unbeaten record in the Polymac Services Midland Alliance last night when they went down 2-0 to Stratford Town in a front of crowd of 677, mostly Brakesmen and women. So Leamington were not able to sing their favourite chant in front of the Bardsmen, '2-0 or not 2-0?' The Bardsmen treated it as if it were a cup final and apparently their supporters reacted as if they had won the World Cup: well, they had won the South Warwickshire cup.

I wasn't able to go, but what I've gleaned from the web boards is that Stratford wanted it more on the night and used a direct, physical style of play. Leamington played below their usual standard. So it was the Stratford supporters who were able to go away into the Forest of Arden singing 'Hey, nonny, nonny.'

Brakes have the opportunity to get back to winning ways at Biddulph on Saturday. Which should be an easier challenge than Charlton face against Chelsea.

Well, we could have sung /that/ song, because it /was/ 2-0.

Spirits were reasonably high, as we're still top of the league and having a laugh.
