Gardner fee rises

According to The Times the fee that the Addicks will have to pay Spurs for Anthony Gardner may rise to nearly £3, but the Haringey club has now agreed to sell the defender. Martin Jol apparently has doubts about his concentration, but that is a common problem at Charlton, particularly towards the end of the season. The 23-year old who joined Spurs from Port Vale five years ago only made nine starts last season. He suffered a foot injury early in the season and subsequently lost his place.

Fulham and West Ham are reported to be competing for the services of Paul Konchesky with the Irons said to be willing to offer £2m for the unsettled player whose family still live in the Dagenham area. Konchesky is reported to have had a medical with West Ham on Monday. It is claimed that the move will improve his chances of an England place.
