Steve Sidwell denies Addicks stories

Two morning papers are carrying stories that Charlton are about to sign Reading midfielder Steve Sidwell for £2m. However, the player himself, who is on his honeymoon in Mauritius said that the stories were news to him. He told the Reading Evening Post, 'I have only just got my phone working. I haven't heard anything about that and have not seen any papers.'

That's not to say there's nothing in the story, but clearly a signing is not imminent.
