Valley hero is back

Chris Powell is back at Sparrows Lane in a coaching role. He does not have a specific role, but there is no doubt that his experience and inspirational qualities will make a major contribution, not least with younger players. Alan Pardew has not ruled out playing him at left back should Ben Thatcher be injured.

Former England international Powell has undoubtedly been one of the most popular players at The Valley in recent years and it is great to see him back.
