Sorondo is going to be out for six weeks after it was revealed that he has fractured a bone in his foot. He suffered the injury against Arsenal on Boxing Day, with scans earlier this week revealing the extent of the problem. Alexi Smertin (knee) and Jerome Thomas (virus) will not feature despite having resumed training, so there goes the 4-3-3 formation we advocated yesterday. However, Francis Jeffers is likely to go straight into the squad.

Given that Boxing day fell on 2th December and today is the 6th January, why has it taken the club so long to discover that Sorondo has a broken foot, surely after the Arse game he should have been checked out properly, seems to be a step back to the days when the pie man was in charge of the medics room.
26th December
The medics probably thought it was a dead leg, that is the usual prognosis or a virus, that is the other.
Or the 3rd one is that he will be off in the transfer window....
