Charlton voted down on tv revenue

Premiership chairmen have voted down a proposal by Charlton that would have redistributed television revenue to help poorer clubs. They won support from Birmingham City and Everton among others, but the majority voted against.

Reports suggest that the club is nearer signing Liverpool's Vladimir Smicer.
